What is Ferst Readers of Carroll County?

Ferst Readers of Carroll County is a service organization that provides an age-appropriate, high-quality book each month for children from birth to age 5. This organization is designed to help the children in our community BECAUSE “the greatest amount of brain growth occurs between birth and age five. In fact, by age 3, roughly 85% of the brain’s core structure is formed.” The ultimate goal is for all children to be ready to read when they enter kindergarten. The research is clear- kids can’t wait until kindergarten. For many kids, that is too late! With your support, we can get kids the books they need.
